Our luxury yurts are extremely spacious for a family or group stay compared to other glampsites. We have a 22ft super sized yurt called Stargazer, and as its name suggests, has a large skylight for you to see the night sky through. It also has a king size bed and 4 single beds in the form of a daybeds and pull out single trundle beds. We also have 4 luxury 18ft yurts which sleep 4 people (a camp bed with bedding can be hired to sleep one extra person in each yurt if required). Our 18ft yurts have a crown cover to pull over at night if you do not want to stargaze.
Our yurts have a real sense of space and light inside with windows and skylights to light the interior in the day. All our yurts have proper wooden framed doors and our 18ft yurts also unusually have large wooden windows with shutters too. Each yurt has a handy en suite toilet shed.
Our stylish large luxury yurts have king sized beds and single daybeds with pull out single mattress trundles, sleeping from 4-5 people.
All our yurts are felt insulated to keep you cosy in the night and cool in the day.
What comes with your yurt?
Daybed (which doubles up as a sofa) with an additional pull out single mattress trundle.
Wood burning stove. An eco friendly 'starter fire' in the form of award winning heat logs and firelighters are provided. Additional fire logs can be purchased from the supplies shack.
Bedding, towels, tea towels, rugs and blankets.
Spot lights and electric sockets.
Water dispenser for drinking water. You can refill your water dispensers at the water point
Crockery and cutlery, tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper, tea towel and scourer, washing up liquid, bottle opener, tin opener, cooking equipment, e.g. pots and pans, graters, wooden spoons, spatulas, salad bowls, chopping board and knives, bread knife, colander, tray, mugs, beakers, serving spoons, cooking/salad oil and BBQ utensils.

Outside Yurts
Charcoal BBQ and 4 ring gas hob
You will have your own raised firepit and outside seating to enjoy the great outdoors keeping you warm when the sun goes down.
Table and chairs inside and out for eating meals and a double hammock.
Amenities
What amenities do we provide at Swallowtails?
There is a toilet and a shower which are cleaned at least daily
We have a kids play area onsite
Swallowtails also provide a range of adult, family or kids activities.
Our tents have a minimum 2 night stay at off peak times and 3 night minimum at peak times (Monday to Friday or Friday to Monday stays). We are unable to offer shorter stays in advance, but shorter stays can be booked as part of a last minute deal subject to availability.
We have a £100 damage deposit in case. We will give you a tour of your yurt on arrival.
‘Check In’ is normally from 4pm - 7pm (please try to check in before dark), check out by 11am on the day of departure (to allow for changeover)
On arrival, please follow signs for reception, park by the house and walk down to the glampsite reception which will be signposted.
We ask guests to use the wheelbarrows provided to bring their possessions to their yurts or 'Lotus Belle' tent and at the end of their stay with us. The car park is right next to the glamping area. This preserves the condition of the glade and is safer for young children.
Each yurt/'Lotus Belle' tent is allocated one free parking space in the visitors car park. Additional cars will need to be added to the 'extras' section on booking.
Luxury yurts sleep up to 5 people (if sleeping 5 in one of our 18ft yurts, you will be provided an extra camp bed and bedding. Our extra large luxury yurt sleep 6, but can accommodate 7 if a camp bed and bedding is provided.
We encourage guests to get to know each other at the communal campfire. Acoustic musicians are welcome to play at Swallowtails before 10pm. As we have families with young children staying with us, quiet time is 11pm and noise should be kept to a minimum from 10.30pm.
No shoes in the yurts to avoid damage to the yurts/bell tents, especially on a wet day.
